Barcelona have begun work in earnest for the return of Lionel Messi.

The Spanish media ‘As’ reported on the 27th (Korean time), “Two leaders of Barcelona and two leaders of Spanish La Liga held an informal meeting at a restaurant in Madrid to discuss the possibility of returning Messi.”

It’s no longer a buzz크크크벳 that Barcelona are pushing for Messi’s return. Barcelona vice-president Rafa Yuste has already said: “We want Messi back. Messi and his family are in contact with us.”

The specific terms of the contract were also disclosed. Barcelona are reported to have offered Messi a two-year contract with an annual salary of 13 million euros (approximately 18.8 billion won).

The stumbling block was financial. La Liga president Javier Tebas drew the line, saying, “Barcelona cannot sign Messi unless it solves its financial problems.”

Barcelona moved quickly. According to reports, Barcelona general manager Mateu Alemani and finance director Ferran Olive met with La Liga director Oscar Mayor and general manager Javier Gomes to discuss Messi’s potential.

The meeting lasted 1 hour and 15 minutes. La Liga personnel left first. Director Alemani left only a short answer, “Informal meeting,” to the reporters’ questions.

Details of the meeting were not disclosed. Barcelona are expected to continue persuading La Liga to sign Messi before the transfer window opens this summer.
