After finishing last season, Lotte worked hard to reinforce the team’s power during the off-season. They brought catcher Gangnam Yoo, infielder Jinhyeok Noh, and pitcher Hyunhee Han through external recruitment of free agents (FA). 17 billion won was spent on the total of three FAs alone. In addition, they brought in pitchers Cha Woo-chan, Shin Jeong-rak, Kim Sang-soo, and Yoon Myung-jun, who had been released from other teams, and actively tried to build a strong player base.
Lotte, which has failed to advance to the postseason for five consecutive years since the 2017 season, hopes to leap to a higher place in the new season. There is a pleasant tension in the Lotte team due to the three-part spring camp and the two rounds of team reorganization.
