The Seoul club announced the loan signing of Hwang Eui-jo through a press release on the 5th. The Seoul club revealed the significance of the recruitment of Hwang Eui-jo, saying, “This transfer is the result of the club and players’ wills coming together for the development of Korean football.”
The club added, “Like the precedent with Hwang In-beom, who was evaluated as a beautiful companion, Hwang Ui-jo decided to recruit this time because he thought he would be able to create a positive synergy effect for both the club and the players.”
The Seoul club said that it expects that Hwang Ui-jo’s joining will once again catch the eyes and ears of the people and take Seoul and the K-League to the next level. According to the Seoul club, Hwang Ui-jo also takes his joining Seoul as an opportunity to take a second leap in his soccer life, and is determined to pour out everything on the K-League stage 스포츠토토, which is his root.
Hwang Eui-jo, who joined Seongnam in the 2013 season after attending Poongsaeng High School and Yonsei University, has played in 140 K-League games until the 2017 season, recording 35 points and 8 assists, growing into a leading striker in Korea.
In particular, at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games, which was selected as a wild card and raised expectations, he recorded 9 goals in 7 matches and became the top scorer, leading Korea to win the gold medal and proving his worth.
Afterwards, Hwang Ui-jo, who joined the French league En Girondins de Bordeaux in the summer of 2019 and succeeded in advancing to the European stage, scored 29 goals in Ligue 1, including 6 goals in the 2019-2020 season, 12 goals in the 2020-2021 season, and 11 goals in the 2021-2022 season. He played an active role as the team’s flagship striker.
In 2022, after moving the team to Nottingham Forest in the English Premier League, he immediately moved on loan to Olympiacos in Greece, continuing his career as a player.
