Steven Gerrard, 42, has become the highest paid footballer in the world.
The Sun published a ranking of the world’s football managers’ salaries on Thursday. Diego Simeone (Atletico Madrid) took the top spot with £30 million (about 50 billion won). Joseph Guardiola (£20 million ($33.3 billion), Manchester City) and Jürgen Klopp (£16 million ($26.7 billion), Liverpool), two of the Premier League’s highest paid managers, came in second and third.
Saudi Arabian club Al Ittifaq announced on Thursday that they have signed Gerrard on a two-year contract until 2025. Al Ittifaq chairman Khaled Al-Dabal personally signed the deal with Gerrard at a hotel in London, England.
