KT lost 1-2 against Genji in the first round of the ‘2023 LOL Champions Korea (LCK) Summer Season at the Role Park LCK Arena in Jongno, Seoul on the afternoon of the 9th. KT, which was looking for a second straight victory after winning the opening match, ended Week 1 with a 1-1 record.

Speaking to the press room after the game, Coach Choi Seung-min said he was “sorry” for today’s poor result. “We are very sorry for the one-sided flow and the fuzz problem,” he added.

In this match, KT suffered a prolonged fuzz due to the purchase of a banned item (Static’s dagger) by Kim “Aiming” Haram in the second set. The LCK’s action on the banned item came quickly after the item was sold. However, KT believed the action was unfair and began a lengthy discussion.

In response, Coach Choi Seung-min said, “Kim “Haram” was aware of it, but it was a mistake,” adding, “The item sale action is more than just gold. It took us a long time to admit it.”

Regarding the fuzz situation, Choi vowed to familiarize the players with the rules so that something like today’s incident doesn’t happen again. “In the last playoffs, we had a long fuzz before. It’s always a case of losing the cow and fixing the barn. We need detailed rules,” he said.
